Win a spot for your child at basketball camp
FRIDAY, JUNE 15: James Jones, playing in the 2012 NBA Finals for the Miami Heat, could be teaching your child in a basketball camp for free this summer thanks to a Bermuda Sun photo contest launched today.
The Bermuda Sun’s online division is inviting parents to post a photo of their basketball-loving youngster on the Bermuda Sun Facebook page by June 27.
After photos are collected, the public will vote for the picture it thinks best exhibits a young person’s love of basketball. The contest is called ‘For the Love of Basketball’.
The top two vote getters — who must be between 8 and 18 years old — will receive free entry into the James Jones camp courtesy of the Bermuda Sun Online and the camp’s organizer Dibia Athletic Development. The value of the prize is $350.
“Giving back to the community is one of the many core values of Dibia Athletic Development, James Jones and the Bermuda Sun,” said Dibia Athletic founder and CEO Brandon Okpalobi. “Our vision for the Dibia Elite Basketball Skills camp is to enhance the basketball skills of the youth on the island and make the camp an annual event.”
The camp will take place August 6 to 10 at Sandy’s 360 where Mr. Jones and a collection of other coaches will instruct boys and girls of various skill levels. Registration details are available at the Dibia Athletic website.
James Jones is on the Miami Heat roster, currently competing for an NBA title versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. He is known for his prowess as a shooter, once winning the NBA 3-point shooting competition.
